Wordpress SEO issue, can you please help me?

thatkindofguy asked:

I have a website, but when Google craws pages it results in results like this - http://img241.imageshack.us/img241/2940/fffffg1.jpg

I think that is really untidy and will not result in many clicks for me. What do I need to do so I get nice looking results? I just want it to show a description of my choice, not any of that admin, categories stuff that you see.

I am confused as what I need to do, I use wordpress.
Pinks 8 - I am not sure if that what it is, doe it sound like what I am trying to do?

Navigate to the permalink area in your Wordpress admin panel. It is usually options>permalinks or with Wordpress 2.5 it is settings>permalinks.

Click on the (Custom, specify below ) button and then fill in the box with : /%category%/%postname%/

This will make your url more search engine friendly. Also if you really want to help with Search engine rankings then download the free plugin “All in one SEO Pack”

It will add a Title, description and keywords into the header info on each page. This is really very useful for the search engines. It does most of the work for you but it also lets you tweak each page. Highly recommended.

the answer about using the All in one SEO Pack is excellent - the details you see in the screenshot are what are generated by your description tag for the category.

Once you use the pack, you should be able to optimise that text to sound better and more commercial - try something like:
“TriggerHappy TV plays a Joke on a Chelsea Pensioner - Laugh your heads off with their stunts. Click to visit site.”
