Ultimately, this depends on when Google’s or Yahoo’s searching spiders get around to finding it. However, you can speed up this process by:
- Having friends link to your blog on their sites, the more well-known sites will be better, and link to those sites in return (to be polite!)
- Submitting your site address here:
- Also submitting it here:
- Make sure your website frequently mentions what it’s about, and key search terms like your username (for example, in the header, the footer, and in a text box in the sidebar)

Unlike stated here, I advise against reciprocal links.
Google gets smarter, identifies those links and doesn’t give much credit to them.
But the idea of having many links back to your website is the right way to go for getting traffic.

All I do is to create a wordpress sitemap using Google site map plugin,go to Google and yahoo webmasters area,adds my blog and the sitemap,Google and Yahoo will be visiting the site daily for updates…

Don’t go for reciprocal link, they don’t wiegh that much.
look for quality backlink to your website.
It will rise as it is considered by google as vote of authority
