Wordpress: Comments on every page?

oh lala asked:

Normally with a tool like wordpress or otherwise… you have comments on your blog. Well I happen to know it’s possible to have comments on other pages that are built within Wordpress.

However I’ve googled it, I asked (never got a reply) Wordpress forums and searched their site and I couldn’t find anything… but I’ve seen it (I forget the site I saw it on!!) and I wondered whether anyone could help me out?

Someone who I asked said I need to call the comments page but i don’t know how to do that. Help?! x

Hi! I’m not sure if I understand you entirely - when you refer to “pages”, are you talking about pages made in Wordpress using the “create new page” feature? Or are you talking about HTML pages you’ve created and coded by hand, and uploaded into your Wordpress blog?

If you’re talking about Wordpress pages, when you create or edit the page, the option bar at the right side of the screen has a blue tab called “Discussion” - click on it and make sure “allow comments” is selected. Also make sure you haven’t disabled comments in any other parts of your Wordpress settings.

If you’re talking about hand-coded pages, you can paste the CSS code for the comments section into your HTML. Here’s an example:

If you look at my example page, you can right-click on the page (anywhere) and click “view source”. Now you’re looking at the HTML code of the page - if you scroll down, you’ll see the CSS code for the comments section. Just paste all the relevant code into your HTML page, and the comments section should show up once its been uploaded into Wordpress.

If this didn’t solve your problem, please update your question with additional information and hopefully we can get to the bottom of it!

Good luck!
