How I won the affiliate game without loosing my shirt!

I am a 41 years old guy, originary from Romania, actually living in Valencia, Spain, near the Mediterranean Sea. My proffession was carpinter, but, due to an accident in june 2008, I had to quit. My slight invalidity forced me to stay home and I started to look for a home based business.
I must confess that when I entered on the web looking for a home job, I was thinking to some manufacture activity appropriate to my condition, not to an e-business. However, I found this virtual marketing and since then I am wasting my time trying to understand it.
After few e-courses, reading hundreds of e-books related to affiliate marketing, studying numerous formulas, matrixes, blueprints and systems, one more “profitable” than the other, I understood that there is only one way to succeed online: having your own website (forget the stories about turn key cash sites), your own blog (Blogger works too, but you are limited on advertising, same with the WordPress hosted by themselves, the best option is a WordPress blog on your own domain), a lens on Squidoo, an autoresponder account and some affiliate product (note: stay away by the money making products, the competition is too high).
The method you must find it by yourselves, everyone has his style, his hobbies and his particularities. There is no proven method to make money online for everyone, and it is not true that everyone can make money online. The ones who have patience and desire to succeed will do it.
Forget abut being rich over night. No MLM scheme will make someone rich, except the one who initiate it. No pyramide scheme will make you rich. If you pay 20 bucks and you are joining to a pyramide scheme and your downline pays you, and their downline pays them, and so on, at the end someone must loose. You can not make money by turning arround the same money between the same people, or, considering that more people are joining every time, when the population from Terra will end joining, we must move the game in other galaxy, in order to continue.
Every day you see ultimate methods, super formulas, commando blueprints, unheard and unseen highly extremely super secretly ninja and amazing profitable systems which does everything for you, just pay the owner, then sit and watch the money going by themselves in your bank account.
Let me tell you something. If I have a product and I am selling to some costumers I am making money. If I give the resell rights to some other guy, we will both sell the same product at the same costumers, and the profit will be reduced to half for each, but let’s say that we stil make money. When I am giving my product to ten thousands guys, then I know that I will not make money by myself from that product. So, either I am moving to another product, either I am not giving the resell rights and I make money by my own.
The ideal is to have your own product. If you don’t, there are tons of affiliate programs, and there are pretty good programs among them. Clickbank offers you a lot of opportunities, plus the guarantee that you will be paid, which you don’t have it with all the private affilaite programs. As far as I saw, niches like weight loss, dating, dog training, fitness, are very popular.
“The money are in the list!” that’s true, but in your own list. Don’t try to rent or buy lists. Let’s face it. If I join to someone’s list I make it because I liked his promotion. If I see that overnight I am on somebody elses list, I can very easy claim “Spam”, and your site will be shut down. Either I am joining to a list for some benefits knowing that the list is for sale, and then I will not buy nothing from your promotion, and you waste your money. The viral list builders are full of guys like you, who are trying to advertise for free in exchange of receiving advertising, so you are all the same, trying to sell, not interested in buying, the only money are made by the owners when you upgrade.
There are a lot of social networking sites which make you free promotion, you don’t need useless site builders. I have signed up for Twitter, I have completed my profile, and in two months I have made 400 followers without lifting a finger.
There are a lot of online free tools which help you to build your website, to find a niche, to promote your business without spending a dime. The only thing that you should pay is the web hosting and the autoresponder. You may find and free webhosting and free autoresponder, but one day you may see that the owners of these services will cut your access at your site or at your list, and you loose all your work. There are cheap web hosting opportunities for less than $10 per month and very good autoresponders services for less than $20 per month. Spend 30 bucks monthly, and you will have the guarantee that your business is safe. As for the rest, if you are looking web site builders, type in Google Search “site builder+free” and you will find NVU, type in “website templates+free” and you will have them, whatever you nedd is online for free.
Be original, be fair with your customers, buy and try all the affiliate products before promoting them, if it is crap, don’t sell it, and you will see that in about six months you will be able to generate a decent income. Forget about being rich. If we are all rich, nobody works, and we can not eat info-food, we can not drink info-juice. we can not dress info-shirts, etc.
I am speaking now five languages fluently and two more half-half, I have the capacity to learn very fast (I have learned to speak, to write and to read in spanish in two months), and I have spent the last year studying this affiliate marketing system, I have joined to numerous courses and newsletters, to viral lists, my e-books collection is bigger than any PLR seller, and I can tell you that one man business is not going to make millions in one year starting from scratch.
I have joined in February at PPC Classroom 2, ran by Anik Singhal and Amit Metha. The last one is making more than 2 millions per year from affiliate marketing and he started from scratch, but very few know that he waited nine months until he made enough money to be able to quit his job, very few know that he is spending TEN THOUSANDS dollars per day in Adwords advertising, very few know that he has his own designer, his own copywritter and few more people working for him. No one man team makes millions in one year by himself, without outsourcing nothing.
I have studyied the system, I have understood it, I have launched my business, I am not rich but I live decent and I can tell you that you can succeed online without spending more than $30 per month, if you work hard, if you are patient and, the most important, if you are honest. You will receive what you will give. I was adviced to show you screen proofs of my success. I see no use, as long as I am not trying to sell you something. On the contrary, I am advising you to not quit your day job until you have the guarantee that your online income allows you to live without “a nine to five” income.
I had no choice and I had to succeed when I started my own business, but this doesn’t mean that you will all do it. You need ability to write articles, to provide good content, and, let’s face it, not everyone does that. You may outsource the writing part, but this means to spend money and you have no guarantee that you will succeed. Feel free to try it, but my advice is “don’t do it”. I could afford now to outsource my articles, but I hate the idea, more than the money is tah satisfaction of the thing made by my own hand. My passion helped me to succeed, together with my predisposition to learn new things, to asimilate them fast, and with the “no other choice” personal situation.

Although I didn’t get much “extra” information about affiliate marketing, it’s nice to know that everything that I’m doing seems to be taking me on the right path.
I appreciate your honest comments about not quitting your job, and that there’s no one product out there that is going to make you instantly rich. I hate it when the “gurus” do that. Anyone that’s been in this business more than 6 months to a year should know by now that it takes hard work and a little bit of common sense to make it in Internet Marketing.

Affiliate marketing is not for everyone. It’s only for the patient and couragious
Correct me if I am wrong but if someone is spending $10K a day in adwords advertising and is only making $2 Million a year, then they are losing a lot of money. Not to mention the additional salaries he has to cover. Now, if that is a Net profit…it’s a whole different story.
Remarkable story should not to forget.
