Blog Traffic Tip: One Simple Post, 200 Unique Visits Overnight

Hi. My name is Codrut Turcanu.

It seems I found the winning jackpot… the one type of post which enables anyone get loads of visits almost in an instant.

And the method is very simple, even a granny could do it.

Here is what this is NOT about:

1. Blog commenting

2. Guest posting

3. PPC, nor banner exchanges.

Then how in the world did one simple blog post brought me 200 unique visits overnight?

How can I get 200 visitors fast when most bloggers struggle to get 100 hits for weeks.

The secret resides in using a simple formula I stumbled upon myself, almost by accident…

I did not invent it. I did not read about it. I did not even think it would work. Boy I was wrong!

Here’s what I did for an instant surge of traffic to my blog – http://www.RemarkableBlogging.com

  • Basic research on Google.com for blog links that are related to my niche.

I got into the main page at Google and typed in this combination of keywords:

“blogging” + “blog”

I was looking for 50-70 unique “blogging” related links to be included in a simple blog post.

People love “resources” type of posts, so I thought that I’d save them time, money and frustration.

Folks wouldn’t have to search on their own to check out these 50-70 content-packed blogs. It probably would take them days.

So I did this on their behalf. I wanted to provide my readers with a good service, at no-cost!

The selection criteria to find the blogs that I wanted was very simple:

A. Blogs had to include at least 80% original content
B. Blogs had to publish up to date content (I did not include “dead” blogs links)
C. Blogs had to get some decent traffic and 2+ Page Rank.

It took me about 90 minutes to find the links that I wanted. And I also got some help from one of my team members to organize them by “topic”.

Also, I’ve gathered together not only “blogging” related blog links but also “affiliate marketing”, “copywriting”, “SEO” and “email marketing”.

Here’s how the blog post looks like:

http://www.remarkableblogging.com/remarkable-blogs-i-like-and-visit-frequently/

Study it. And notice how I entitled the post, how I started writing it, and how I listed the blog urls.

I wanted to make sure I linked each blog to their latest posts.

Here’s why – most blogs accept “trackbacks”. Word-press blogs has this “trackback” option built in. For example, if you link to blog A, B, and C, their owners should be able to see your post url in their dashboard.

That’s the good part. The most exciting part is this:

Your blog post will also be seen by the blog visitors of the posts you’re linking to.

So each time you publish a new blog post (any type of it), link to other bloggers/blogs and blog posts. It’s a must for getting more traffic.

That’s how I got 200 unique visits “overnight” (in less than 48 hours)

That’s all. Now re-read this post and implement today’s blog traffic tip. It’s proven!
In the next “success story” I’ll share with you how I got exposed on a 9,175+ RSS circulation “blogging” blog… at no-cost! And how you can easily copy-cat my strategy.

Do you know the best part?

It works in any niche, regardless your blog is “established” already or brand-new.

    Great tips Codrut.

This should be valuable to those who doesn’t know the power of trackbacks..

    • Codrut Turcanu 06. Jul, 2009 at 1:16 pm #

Thank you. It’s not only about trackbacks. It’s more like about saving your subscribers and readers time, money and effort. They won’t have to search on the web for these links. You do it on their behalf…

great post with a great strategy for driving some high quality traffic and getting trackbacks…..thanks….ray

I always knew that trackbacks were important. But it never occurred to me that so many relevant trackbacks in a single poat would work so well. Thanks for the free tip. I was skeptical when I first started reading the article.

    • Codrut Turcanu 06. Jul, 2009 at 1:24 pm #

it works. just a small warning: all outside links should open in a new window. this way your visitors/readers will still stay on your blog :)

    Hi,
    very nice story.
Great tips and we know it’s not impossible to make more traffic for a blog … but we are skeptical for the german market.
Bloggers from germany are stupid and do not create a link to other websites. ;-(

We use your tips for our english blogs.
    Thanks.

    • Codrut Turcanu 06. Jul, 2009 at 1:26 pm #

hey, watch out for the language! lol

these tips are worldwide. I assume that over 80% of the US English bloggers are not linking to other blogs/bloggers for various reasons. One of them is because they didn’t think of it before, or because they’re afraid about competition.

I am not! My business philosophy is not “kill the competition”, it’s more like “let’s help your subscribers/customers and make some money together”

    Hi,

Your research is based on Google search result. Do you think that Bing.com — the latest from Microsoft, will be affecting the search result? Will it be very much complicated if we follow your steps in this post and compare the result from Bing.com?

This was a great post. I too, wonder about Bing if the same results will apply. I’m going to do a test with Bing and see what happens. We all know that Google is the big fish in the pond. We’ll see!

PS. Actually I’ll do the test initially with Google test and Bing as an aside!

    • Codrut Turcanu 06. Jul, 2009 at 1:29 pm #

that’s more like a web image search engine. are you kidding?

the search tip is something common, it works and it’ll always work.

Thanks for your success case study.

  10. Armand 05. Jul, 2009 at 7:34 am #

This article seems great. I also understand that you can do this with trackbacks.

However, the downside is when I clicked on both (of the given) links – it appears that there’s a big sign saying “Warning! Visiting this site may harm your computer”. I tried it again a few times thinking I may have gotten it wrong but it’s still the same “red” page with a big warning sign.

Now, I don’t know about you but I’m not ready to click ok to continue with the site when there’s a big warning sign in red saying it could harm your computer….

    It makes me wonder if:
    1. The other commenters have come across the same page(s) with the same warning signs.
    2. If the other commenters have actually just commented without checking out the credibility of the author. If not, then they’re lucky for not continuing as they probably would’ve downloaded some kind of virus.
    3. If Pawan (Max Blog Press owner) have actually checked out the credibility of the author as well.

Pawan, I’ve been following your blog since March 3, 2008 and a loyal follower. I’d like to suggest that you double check the links to this site as this has now made me think twice about your recommendations and there may be other “loyal followers” that you may also think twice about your future recommendations.

Please update us on the progress of this.

    Regards,
    Armand

    • Melanie 05. Jul, 2009 at 8:22 am #

Armand, I see the warning too. There is a script trying to load another script from go00ogle.net (malware). Found some information about this malware here: http://www.konstantin.shemyak.com/blog/2009/06/16/being-web-cracked-experience-and-advice/

I will rather wait and not open the page.

there are 80% chances you have some type of spyware on your computer. I happen to see similar messages on other sites. I never saw that on my blogs.

All links inside the post are working! Try again, from another computer if possible.

      Thank you!

  11. Mike 05. Jul, 2009 at 7:34 am #

But what about too many links on one page with a little text? Isn’t it a risk of ban?

  12. Kurt Avish 05. Jul, 2009 at 7:57 am #

Wonderful Man. Although its not new to me and I have already been using it on my country local blog, its a wonderful tips you share. I hope many will understand the value of trackbacks now.

Great tips, i will try your tips to increase traffic to my blog. Keep blogging and sharing.

    • Codrut Turcanu 06. Jul, 2009 at 1:31 pm #

as I told previously. It’s not about traffic (that’s the end result)

You want to provide your subscribers/readers with time-saving, valuable links :)

  14. Dinda Watson 05. Jul, 2009 at 8:24 am #

    Thank’s for the info

    • Codrut Turcanu 06. Jul, 2009 at 1:33 pm #

I have no clue why Pawan accepts such comments? I never do for my blogs.

      And here’s WHY:

because it did not add any benefit to the overall comments.

Next time please come up with something better than just “thanks for the info”. You’re looking like you’re an intruder here , posting for the sake of getting a back link.

Take this as positive criticism. Learn from us, we’re top bloggers in the field, and we advise you learn from the best :)

  15. Paul Counts 05. Jul, 2009 at 8:51 am #

That was an excellent tip! I also have discovered that people really like list articles or top 30 articles for example. It seems like the more examples you give them, the more people will visit the article. Even though it takes a little time to put in the research, the payoff is well worth it from the traffic. You gave an excellent strategy here! Thanks for sharing!

Thanks for sharing the strategy. It’s so simple to implement but didn’t realized still. Getting lots of traffic without writing any content. Great..

  20. BusinessToolGuide 05. Jul, 2009 at 2:30 pm #

I like this for more reasons then the obvious, if you find blogs that you reference often you end up building a relationship with the owners and it is easier to form good JV’s. I have a couple of jv partners I have established like this.

    • Codrut Turcanu 06. Jul, 2009 at 1:34 pm #

yeah, and if you take it further. you could create some private blogs where you list all your JV contacts with links, e-mail addresses, etc. for later proposals :)

  21. Prenatal Vitamins 05. Jul, 2009 at 2:30 pm #

Great idea, but be sure to include no-follow strings on the links so that the trackbacks don’t impact your SEO rank.

Can you give an example of how to incorporate no-follow strings in the links?

      Thanks…

That is really a helpful search term. It was really beneficial. I am looking forward to creating one such post for my blog.

Thanks bro for this tips !!

  24. Colleen W 05. Jul, 2009 at 5:01 pm #

Definitely some great tips here, easy to implement.

However, I am curious as well about making a blog post filled with links, are we at risk to be banned?

Secondly, your item C: “Blogs had to get some decent traffic and 2+ Page Rank”
What is the best link or method to check this information for each blog?

    • Codrut Turcanu 06. Jul, 2009 at 2:07 pm #

banned? ha, ha, ha… I think anybody mentioning “banned” again should be banned from the Internet.

Do a google search to find the page rank, use Alexa , Quantcast.com and all the other free tools out there

    Hi,
After installing NoScript in FF I went to the above site. NoScript stopped some script, don’t know which once, and showed the page.

For people who didn’t see it yet, it is a post with a short interduction followed by a long list of just links that are categorized.
What’s interesting to note, the post is about a year old (22. July 2008) and since that time lots of things have changed.
Anyway the post is interesting and it could be a bit better, when each link has a small description of what to expect. Just a few sentences, a short paragraph.

By doing this, the post gets very long, so I would suggest to break it up, making each category one post and link to the next category at the end of the post.

This way you get more posts, they are more specific in term of keywords, and google has to index a few more pages.

For the rest it is a good idea, thanks for pointing it out, but please free your site from bad scripts.

One last request, for how long did you receive the 200 visitors and have you been able to get more traffic in the long run?

    • Codrut Turcanu 06. Jul, 2009 at 2:09 pm #

yes, adding a tiny description is required. I hope to update the blog post soon.

I stopped writing for the blog, but since I got lots of traffic from Pawan and audience, I will start publishing more content ASAP.

Those links are still bringing me hits even today. :)

I got an email today = July 5, 2009! with the links to some dead blog from 2008!

    Am I missing here something….???

I thought I am on the Net where things are changing 10 if not hundred times faster than in real life, and yet somebody sends me an email about exciting ‘secret’ method which was posted a Year ago..?!
    >>Read the full post and “unlock” the secret to getting 200 unique
    visitors “overnight”:<<

Even these methods still Do work, but so does article marketing or PPC advertising, etc etc yet nobody is promoting it NOW as something ‘new’ and ‘secret’

I don’t mind if MGP owner is posting Online/letting other people post on his site, but PLEASE, don’t email me these Old News.

    Thank you very much

    D

the power of trackback is awesome and we tend to really forget it!
But I will definitly go for bigger blog post (more text content) to keep a better text/links ratio. Also spammer use a lot this techniques and I started to moderate my blog trackbacks to not links to crappy website(spam) that will eventually get me slash by the big G :-/

  35. Bushido Code 07. Sep, 2009 at 7:41 am #

Excellent post! It definately seems link a win-win situation for both parties. You share “link love” and you get traffic.

I’m my blog is still relatively new and I’m a blogging newbie. I do have some questions regarding one line in you post:

“Your blog post will also be seen by the blog visitors of the posts you’re linking to.”

How do the visitors of the blog see your blog post? Is there I WP plugin that shows trackbacks to a particular post?
