Give and You Shall Receive!
I have many different blogs – some get more traffic than others, some are for fun rather than profit.
One of my quiet blogs recently came to life when I wrote an email offering resources to an email group.
http://margaretcollinsonline/blog usually appears in my email signature but otherwise is not a blog I actively promote.
However, on three occasions in June/July I made resources accessible on the blog as audio or video download. As these resources were of interest to a wealth creation forum I emailed the group, discussing the subject and mentioned “and if you’re interested in finding out more, do visit my blog page.”.
It was only some time later that I noticed the effects on my Google Analytics account:

Speaks for itself really.
Reminds me very much of the musings of Napoleon Hill: Give more value than you are being paid for and soon you will be paid more than the value you have given.
Also ties in with Robert Cialdini’s ideas on the law of reciprocity, give before you receive.
This strategy worked well for a blog that is porrly monetised, imagine what a similar strategy could achieve for you with a well monteized blog?!
